Privacy Policy

How RoleVerity collects, uses, stores, and deletes the career data you put in it.

Who we are

RoleVerity (roleverity.app) is a job-search product operated by David Shin, an individual in California, United States. It is not a registered company. Questions: hello@roleverity.app.

This policy describes the product as it exists today: an authenticated app that stores your hunt and career record, and that may send selected text to Anthropic when you run a model-backed action. Billing, production hosting, and a support mailbox are still being stood up; those arrivals will be named here when they ship.

What we collect

We collect only what the product needs to run your hunt. We do not scrape other sites for a profile of you, and we do not run advertising pixels.

  • Account: email address and a password hash, stored by Supabase Auth.
  • Hunt and career data you type or upload: applications, job descriptions, interview notes, Career Brain rows, résumé files, cover-letter drafts, and submitted artifacts.
  • Model metadata: task, prompt version, model id, token and cache counts, and optional related row ids. Prompt text, résumé text, job-description text, and model output are not stored in that log.
  • Session cookies required to keep you signed in. Theme preference is stored in your browser only.
  • If you paste a job-posting URL, we fetch that single page to extract readable text. That fetch is not a crawler.
  • Product-analytics events, when analytics is configured: your account id, the page path with record ids removed, and a fixed list of milestone events with counts and short labels. No résumé text, job-description text, company names, model output, or email address is sent. There is no autocapture of what you click and no session recording.

What we do not collect

These are not in the product today. If that changes, this page will change first.

  • Payment card numbers. Checkout is not built; a future Stripe integration will update this policy.
  • Advertising identifiers, marketing cookies, or a sale of personal information.
  • Precise device location. Location exists only if you type it onto an application.

How we use it

Your data is used to provide the service you asked for, and to delete it when you ask.

  • Run the tracker, Career Brain, job analysis, Resume Studio, cover letters, export, and account deletion.
  • Send the minimum text a model task needs to Anthropic when you invoke that task. See the AI disclosure for the per-task list.
  • Keep you signed in and show the theme you chose.

Who processes it

We do not sell personal data. We do not use your career record to train a RoleVerity model — there is no such model. Processors see only what their job requires.

  • Supabase — authentication, Postgres, and private file storage. Local development uses a local stack; production hosting is planned.
  • Anthropic — model inference when a live provider is configured for that task. See the AI disclosure. We have not purchased a Zero Data Retention arrangement.
  • Vercel — application hosting, once the app is deployed.
  • PostHog — product analytics, when configured. It receives the account id, sanitized page paths, and the milestone events listed above; it never receives your career content.

Retention and deletion

We keep your account and the data in it until you delete the account. Settings can export a JSON recovery file and per-table CSVs first.

Account deletion removes your objects from the submitted-artifacts, resume-sources, and resume-outputs buckets, then deletes the auth user. User-owned Postgres rows cascade with that delete. The seeded demo account cannot be deleted.

A local database backup may retain a copy until the next dump cycle. Production backup scheduling is not deployed yet; when it is, deleted accounts can linger in backups until those backups expire.

Your choices

You can read, correct, and export your data in the app. You can delete the account from Settings. You can also email hello@roleverity.app. We will not require you to create an account to read this policy.

If you are in California or another jurisdiction with access, correction, or deletion rights, those requests go to the same address. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context advertising.

Who the product is for

RoleVerity is for adults running a job search. It is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

The date at the top of this page is the effective date. Material changes — a new processor, a payment integration, or a change to what is sent to a model — will update that date. The current version always lives at https://roleverity.app/privacy.
